Privacy notice
Last updated: 13 July 2026.
The short version
- We don’t collect anything until you use a feature.
- Chat messages help us find jobs and courses for you.
- If you upload a CV, an AI service reads it to find your skills.
- If you send a course enquiry, we email the college for you. The college replies straight to your email address.
- If you prepare a job application, we don’t send anything for you. You copy your note and apply on the employer’s own site yourself.
- We don’t sell your data or add you to marketing lists.
- You don’t need an account to use Fielder — it’s optional.
- We email you only when you ask us to — a sign-in link, or a follow-up you agreed to.
The rest of this page explains all of this in more detail.
What Fielder is
Fielder is an AI-powered careers information tool. It matches your skills to live UK job postings and suggests courses that close your skill gaps. It gives general information, not regulated careers advice. Job and course details come from other organisations. Always check them. Apply or enrol with the employer or training provider directly.
What we collect, and when
We only collect data when you actually use a feature:
- Chat. The messages you type, so we can work out what to reply.
- CV upload. If you upload a CV, an AI service reads it to find your skills. This means an outside AI provider processes your CV, not just Fielder.
- Course enquiry. Your name, your email address, and any note you choose to add.
- Job application. Your name, your email address, and the details of the job, when you prepare an application.
- Account. If you choose to sign in, we store your email address (and your name, if you give it). We link your course enquiries and job applications to that account, so you can see them in one place.
Making an account
You don’t need an account to use Fielder. If you want one, go to the Account page and enter your email address. We send you a link by email. Click it, and you’re signed in — there is no password to remember.
Once signed in, you can see your course enquiries and job applications in one place. We store your email (and your name, if you gave it), plus a sign-in cookie on your device so you stay signed in. Sign out any time, or email us and we’ll delete your account — see “Your rights” below.
What we do with it
Course enquiry:we email the college on your behalf. The college sees your name, email, and note, and replies straight to your email address — not through Fielder.
Job application: we help you draft a cover note. The note is yours to edit. We do notsend it to the employer. You copy it yourself and open the employer’s site to apply. We keep a record that you prepared an application, so the service works properly.
We keep records of enquiries and applications to run Fielder. We don’t yet have a fixed time limit for how long we keep them. Ask us and we’ll delete yours — see “Your rights” below.
What we don’t do
- We don’t require you to create an account.
- We don’t sell your data to anyone.
- We don’t add you to marketing lists.
- We don’t email you unless you ask us to (a sign-in link, or a follow-up you agreed to).
Your email choices
We email you only when you ask us to. That’s a sign-in link for your account, or a course follow-up you agreed to. Course enquiries themselves go straight to the college, and the college replies to your email address — not us.
A sign-in link stops working on its own after 30 minutes, so there is nothing to unsubscribe from. Every follow-up email has an unsubscribe link. Clicking it stops all further Fielder emails to that address.
What’s stored on your device
Fielder saves two small things in your browser’s local storage, so you don’t have to retype them:
- Your name and email, so enquiry and application forms fill in for you.
- Which jobs you’ve marked as applied for.
This stays on your device — it isn’t sent to us until you use a feature. You can clear it any time in your browser’s settings.
If you sign in, we also store a sign-in cookie on your device. It keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. Signing out, or clearing your browser’s cookies, removes it.
Other companies that help us run Fielder
A few other companies help us provide the service, on our behalf:
- An email delivery service (SendGrid), to send enquiry emails.
- AI providers, to process chat messages and read uploaded CVs.
- Hosting providers (Railway and Cloudflare), to run the website.
For colleges (the provider portal)
A college can claim its own listing on Fielder. We send a link to the email address we already hold for that college. Clicking it signs the college in. There is no password to remember.
Once signed in, a college can:
- See the enquiries Fielder has sent it, and simple stats.
- Turn candidate enquiries on or off for its own listing.
- Show or hide its courses in Fielder’s search results.
- Get a copy of its account and enquiry data.
- Delete its account.
Deleting a college account removes the sign-in details we hold. This means the email address and the account itself go. It also turns off candidate enquiries for that listing. The listing stays visible unless the college hides it too. We keep the enquiries candidates already sent, because that data belongs to them. A college can claim its listing again at any time. Deleting an account is never permanent.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, and ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we’ll get back to you.
About the AI assistant
You are chatting with an AI. It gives general information, not regulated careers advice. Always check job and course details and apply or enrol directly with the employer or provider.
